"Maypole Dance Nether Wasdale"

This was painted a few years ago. The children are deliberately not recognisable partly because each year it will be different children dancing around this maypole. They will perhaps move far away from Cumbria as they get older, but many return as visitors to this valley. (If you were painting detailed faces of children you would probably need permission, as with photography, these days)

Thia is near Keswick and there are panoramic views of the fells from it. The cloud formations seemed to me to be reaching down to the stone circle
